Powerlifting America has set the dates and host cities for the 2027 nationals season: four championship events, opening in January and running through the spring. Three hosts are confirmed today. The host city for Classic Open Nationals will be announced separately.
Bench Press Nationals
January 22–24, 2027 · Corpus Christi, TX
Classic and Equipped, every age division, with the Special Olympics division contested on the same platform.
High School & Collegiate Nationals
April 15–18, 2027 · Richmond, VA
High School (Varsity and Junior Varsity) and Collegiate titles, Classic and Equipped, with team scoring by school.
Age Division Nationals
April 27 – May 2, 2027 · Lake Tahoe, NV
Six national championships across six days: Sub-Junior and Junior, Masters I to IV, Equipped Open, Military, Police & Fire, Youth and Pre-Sub-Junior, and the Special Olympics division.
Classic Open Nationals
Dates and host city to be announced
The open Classic national championship, and the deepest field of the season.
Two of the three hosts are familiar ground: Powerlifting America held events in both Corpus Christi and Lake Tahoe last year, and both cities return to the calendar in 2027. Richmond hosts a nationals event for the first time, taking the academic championships in April.
Registration windows, entry fees, and qualifying windows for each championship publish on its event page as they are confirmed. Most national championships require a qualifying total from a Powerlifting America, NAPF, IPF, or IPF affiliate event within the championship’s qualifying window, and a current Powerlifting America membership is required to enter any sanctioned competition.
