Powerlifting America will send 92 lifters to the 2026 IPF World Masters Classic and Equipped Powerlifting Championships, held October 15 to 24 at the Reno Ballroom in Reno, Nevada. The classic championships run October 15 to 21 and the equipped championships October 22 to 24. The team has 61 classic entries and 32 equipped entries across Masters I to IV, from 58 men and 34 women. Michael Rodriguez is entered in both.
Michael Tuchscherer returns to the classic Master I 120kg class after an 890 total at last year’s Masters Worlds. Desmond Jordan lifted classic at the same championships, totaling 897.5 in the Master I 120s, and enters equipped this year after a 935 equipped total at Open Nationals in March. Michael Garozzo (105kg) and Nathan Kulas (93kg) lead the classic Master I men, Garozzo after an 832.5 total at Open Nationals and Kulas after 816.5 at Age Division Nationals in May.
Dayna McNeal, who competed at the IPF World Classic Championships in 2022 and 2023, is entered in the Master I 76kg class after a 560 total at Age Division Nationals in 2025. Patricia Johnson (Master II 84+kg) and Joah Iannotta (Master II 76kg) return to Masters Worlds, Johnson after a 575 total at the 2023 championships. In equipped, Dale McLaren moves up to Master II at 105kg after a 935 equipped total at the Georgia State Championship last November, and Sara Rodock enters the Master I 84kg class after a 542.5 equipped total at Age Division Nationals.
Two lifters on the team were born in the 1940s: Richard Flaum (1945) in the classic Master IV 66kg class and Gale Williams (1947) in the women’s Master IV 69kg class.
