Join Our Leadership Team: We Are Recruiting!

Regional Director West

After serving on the Board since Powerlifting America’s inception, Tim Mercer, our regional director for the West Coast, has stepped down from his post. Tim consistently made thoughtful contributions to the Board, providing strategic direction and insights to strengthen the organization. He helped to grow Powerlifting America’s presence on the West Coast and always supported our national events. Tim will be missed, but we look forward to finding his successor.

Per our bylaws, as we are recruiting out of cycle to fill a partial term and there are fewer than 24 months remaining in the term, the position will be appointed with selection done by the Board. This position subsequently will be up for election in the 2028 General Assembly as scheduled.

Interested candidates should email a resume and a letter of interest describing their experience and ability to meet the eligibility requirements to Powerlifting America’s Secretary General at [email protected].

Committee Positions

Ready to help shape the future of Powerlifting America? We are looking for volunteers to fill out remaining openings on our Athletes’ Advisory Council, Discipline Committee, Ethics Committee, and Law and Legislation Committee. In addition, we are looking for a Chairperson for the Ethics Committee. Help Powerlifting America grow and improve by offering your experience to one of these vital organizations:

  • The Athlete Advisory Council represents athletes from across all aspects of the sport. We filled several positions at the 2026 General Assembly but are still in need of representatives for the Open, Men’s, and Women’s teams.
  • The Disciplinary Committee is responsible for overseeing the Code of Conduct, helping to ensure accountability and due process of members.
  • The Law and Legislation Committee supports a range of governance needs and broad legal advice to Powerlifting America.
  • The Ethics Committee is responsible for development and enforcement of the Code of Ethics, keeping powerlifting safe, respected, and fair.

As we are recruiting out of cycle, these positions initially will be appointed with selection done by the existing committee members and the Board. Each position will be up for election at the next appropriate General Assembly based on election requirements and schedule in the bylaws.
